Awesome Map Great Job 2

0

The new map in the line of Awesome Map is in the works. Every night i have been putting about 30 mins to 1 hour into it. The original map was surprisingly addictive that it will be hard to top. I think I have enough new creative objectives that it will be a crazy awesome map, pun intended.

One key objective most will find awesomely hilarious, attackers get two hellbenders, while defenders toss cars down the hill while the hellbenders are climbing it, attempting to stop them.

The map should be done in a few weeks.

I’m back and ready!

As you may have noticed, I have no posted anything on my site in a few months. I have been so angry on how the Wells Fargo situation turned out that I went to the local credit union and they took care of me. Got a different house and moved in. Very nice place, and after last week I know I can handle 10 person lan parties.

I have been online and active, however on my site I didn’t feel like making any updates. Now that I am starting to get settled in here and getting used to all the extra work I have to do I feel actually “in the mood” to post.

For those of you who like the TWiT Network, give this wallpaper a try. Looks really nice.

So I thought to myself, Summer is Coming… Servers will be more full and I thought I would help sweeten the pot for those who like to play in the summer. I have released a remix of a map that needed it dearly…

Pharao Raceway is a map that you probably have played before if you have ever done Assault before. This map had incredible amounts of problems. Not that you can see always in game but when you look in editor it was a nightmare. Doubled BSPs, incorrectly configured actors were all over.

Now that isn’t that bad, the map does work, but I thought I would offer my remix. Here are some screenshots.

My TWiT Desktop Program in Action.

TWiT Live On Your Desktop

I have always been a fan of Leo Laporte since he was on TechTV. I have spent so many hours listening/watching his shows. I did use TWiT Desktop and it wouldn’t work half the time and it was so annoying that it would not allow you to set the volume (that I saw).

I have been experimenting with Visual Studio 2010 and built a very basic TWiT Live Program that does something simple. It runs the pop out video for TWiT in a scalable window. Allows full screen (not multi-monitor support)

Requires .NET Framework 4.0, yeah I know… But I have it already and it works for me.

A Few years old, still a classic.

Help Desk Alternative

In the last few days I have been looking for a solution that lets me help others with their computer problems without having to go anywhere and waste gas. I have been hearing ads for a popular service from Cisco, but after seeing the outrageous pricing it wasn’t for me.

I have looked into a great alternative though. I thought I would share it with my readers. Ultra VNC is a version of VNC with quite a few plugins, one of them being a program that you can build to make a simple remote vnc client that doesn’t have to be installed, it just runs on their end and when the session is done will delete itself. Best of all it is 100% FREE. If I could do this for free and only take a few hours setting it up originally I see no problem in that.

There are also plugins that let people behind a NAT router report to you which does require an open port.

I strongly suggest you give them a try, and if you can donate a few bucks to help them out.

My Sweet, Sweet iPad

I am really happy with this product, Apple really hit the nail on the head. I just wish they would add Printer Support. Even if it a desktop app and it communicates to a desktop computer which then will communicate with a printer (that way no drivers to worry about)

Well the initial release is done, and the website is public. There are a few bugs which are not security related at least. However the software is working.

iPad on the way! (From China?!)

I guess Apple really was working hard to get their early shipments out. I got my UPS tracking number yesterday and it showed that it was noticed in “CN”. Me not really thinking about it thought it said Connecticut . True behold a day later, I check it and it shows Hong Kong. Well, that confirms that it originally started in China.

This saturday the iPad should arrive and I will be playing around with it like a crazy little child. I’ll have to put a fund away just for buying apps. I have a feeling I will drain some money relatively quick. I will post some nice pictures and hopefully some video once we get to opening this thing up on Saturday.
